This is a Europe-wide competition to design a cover for the Europa Diary.

The Europa Diary is a publication aimed at young people, distributed in all 27 countries of the European Union. It covers topics such as the environment, consumer affairs, responsible consumption, and the European Union itself. The cover should not contain any text, and should be suitable for distribution to young people aged 16-18 in all countries of the European Union.

Only persons who are citizens of one of the 27 EU member states may submit an entry.

What you could win

• The creator of the best entry will receive 1000 euros, irrespective of whether the design is used for the cover of the actual Europa Diary.
• We may use your design on the cover of the 2008/2009 edition of the Europa Diary, in which case you will be credited and your name will be seen by several million students throughout Europe!

How to submit an entry

Create a login.

As part of your login, we will require the following information:

• your name
• your age
• your full contact details (including address, telephone and email)
• your nationality.

Once you have created your login, you will be able to transfer your entry(ies) by FTP onto our server. You may modify your submission and submit as many designs as you wish until 15 November.

Rules

Participants must be a citizen of one of the 27 EU member states. Each participant may submit multiple entries. All entries will be considered.

Technical specifications

• Format of the image should be 135mm wide x 203mm high + bleeds;
• The image should not contain any text;
• The image should be created in Adobe Photoshop;
• The image and all items in it must be copyright-free;
• Please submit a high-resolution (300 dpi) .jpg file and keep a .psd file to send to us if we choose you as the winner.

Use of your entry

By submitting your image for consideration as part of the Diary Cover Competition, you expressly agree to:

• allow the Generation Europe Foundation to use your image, free of charge, on the cover of the 2008/2009 edition of the Europa Diary, with no limit on the print run (you will be credited);
• allow the Generation Europe Foundation to modify your image as it sees fit (you will be informed of modifications).

Runner-up entries may be published on our website.

Data Protection

The information you submit as part of your participation in this competition will be used only for the purposes of this competition and will not be shared with any other person or entity.

The author of the winning entry will be credited in the 2008/2009 edition of the Europa Diary if we choose to use that entry on the cover.

Deadline

Entries must be submitted by 15 November 2007.
